Prior to this course, I have never been introduced to the concept of “currere”, yet it has provided me a space to reflect on the my exact place in the contexts that I occupy and have occupied. I physically learning and blogging from my home, but I am often elsewhere.

Where am I…

as a person? – I am in a content state. I have strong relationships with friends and loved ones. We make time for one another. I feel that I am continuing to pursue my passions and curiosities at a comfortable pace that make me feel fulfilled.

as a learner? – I am slow to learn new things that are not immediately piquing my interests, but when motivated, I am very quick to invest as much time and effort as I can into my area of study.

as a teacher? – I am in a comfortable state. I know what I am doing, I am looking for ways to constantly be innovating without having to worry about job stability or my confidence in teaching the curriculum. I am good at what I do, and I take great pride in my skills as a computer science teacher.

in my focus area? – I feel that I am already behind. I was so engrossed in my career after finishing the last semester that I squandered the time to get ahead. I did so much preparatory work such as collecting literature, meeting with colleagues that I want to collaborate with, and acquiring the essential materials, but I have done nothing with them.

Where could I be…

as a person? – This degree has been at the forefront of my life and priorities, so I would like to strive to achieve more milestone life events after the degree is completed.

as a learner? – I want to achieve a more equitable balance in my learning journeys across the board. Making time for all of the learning journeys that are concurrently happening, and achieving the learning objectives before the predetermined deadlines by my own or the forces beyond my control’s creation.

as a teacher? – I hope in the future to be working at a more administrative level supporting educators with learning about integrating technology beyond the iPad and laptop in their classes. There is a district technology support team that my district has for this very objective. I would love to try my hand at joining the team. My current dilemma in this is that the current contracts are only 2 years long and require you to give up your current teaching assignment. I love my current job too much to want to leave it behind.

in my focus area? – I’d like to be further along in supporting my learning and understanding. I want to show up for my research partner, and make headways into our final project together. I want to spend this summer putting the theory in motion.
